Research Databases in Alphabetical Order

These are the major databases that offer access to thousands of professional research journals. You can search for articles in journals or newspapers in two ways---either by accessing the databases themselves or searching by subject.

This multi-disciplinary full text database offers information in virtually every area of academic study including the social sciences, education, business, medicine, engineering, physics, chemistry, language, arts, and literature.

This database is a comprehensive full-text database designed specifically to support research in two-year colleges. ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and resources, and now contains links to more than 100,000 full text documents.

Ethnic NewsWatch

Ethnic NewsWatch features periodicals from the ethnic and minority press, providing researchers access to often overlooked perspectives. It contains 1.6 million full-text articles from more than 280 publications dating back to 1990. Nearly a quarter of the articles are presented in Spanish.

GenderWatch provides historical and current perspectives on the evolution of gender roles. With archival material dating back to 1970, the 200+ periodical titles provide over 125,000 full-text articles on gender studies, family studies, and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender studies. Topics include sexuality, religion, feminism, eating disorders, masculinity, workplace issues, and much more.

GreenFILE offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,700 records.

A comprehensive resource that provides integrated access to medical, statistical, health, and wellness information. Lexi-Comp Online for Dentistry is a complete resource for dental professionals.

Lexi-PALS Drug Guide

The Lexi-PALS Drug Guide is a database of Patient Advisory Leaflets from Lexi-Comp that provides vital education on medications for patients. The approach for each pamphlet is to present each medication in an easy to follow and understand question-and-answer format. The database consists of over 1,450 medication and natural product leaflets, with an additional 600 Spanish language leaflets representing the most subscribed and commonly used medications. The database is offered on the EBSCOhost platform and is updated monthly.
