Services for Off-Campus Students

1. To Access our Library

Students can find information about our library and check our library collections online by accessing our homepage: http://depts.luzerne.edu/library/index.shtml

Students can also obtain brief, factual information by using our E-Reference service; just click on ‘Ask the Librarian’ on our library homepage.

2. To Access Library Databases From Remote Locations

EZProxy Login
You may now access databases from home using your LCCC Student email account. Simply log in with your email username and password. If this does not work, please contact the library at 570-740-0415, or send an e-mail to our Electronic Resources Librarian at dehrensperger@luzerne.edu.

Students are welcome to call our library reference desk at 570-740-0661, or 1-800-377-5222 ext. 415 if they encounter any problem in accessing our online databases.

3. Reciprocal Borrowing Agreements

LCCC belongs to several consortia with which we have reciprocal borrowing agreements. The Northeast Pennsylvania Library Network (NPLN) includes all local area public libraries and all local academic libraries. The Pennsylvania Community College Library Consortium (PCCLC) includes fourteen community colleges as its members. In addition, the PCCLC reached a reciprocal borrowing agreement with the State System of Higher Education Libraries Council (SSHELCO). SSHELCO has fourteen universities as its members. A valid photo ID and proof of current enrollment status are required for students to use this service. Our library is also a member of an academic reciprocal borrowing program associated with PALINET. There are more than sixty academic libraries statewide participating in this program. Students need to come to our library reference desk to obtain the appropriate paper work to utilize this service.

4. Using Local Public Libraries

Our off campus students can use any local libraries if they are residents of the county. Most public libraries also have Internet access. Our library’s databases can be accessed via the Internet if students do not have Internet access at home.
