<---- Previous, Reference Books
Oversize books are larger than most of the books in the collection. The image below gives idea of the typical size difference between the types of books. The oversize books are kept separate from the Regular books, but they are catalogued in the same manner, according to the LC classification system. Also, they are shelved in alphabetical order by the first letter of the call number. If you are looking for a book, make sure to note if it is considered to be an "oversize" book in the computer record. The oversize books are kept at the front of the circulating collection, or stacks, and this collection starts near the end of the reference section. Oversize books can be checked out of the library. They are considered normal books in terms of circulation, unlike Reference books which must stay in the library. Next, Regular Books ----> | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
